A German sportswear brand unveiled two new jerseys for the Philippine national men’s football team Tuesday in Taguig City that will be used for the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup on 12 December.

The Nationals will be wearing a blue home jersey with a red accents and a white away kit that has is pattern based on the Amihan or the northeast monsoon.

The last time the Philippines wore the German brand PUMA in the tournament was back in 2014 edition of the Mitsubishi Electric Cup when the squad was bannered by Phil and James Younghusband, Stephan Schrock and Neil Etheridge.

Philippine Football Federation national team director Freddy Gonzalez is grateful for PUMA’s full support as the players will be given not only jerseys but also other gear like boots and gloves.

“Back then, it was only a PUMA distributor. The support they gave to the national team wasn’t all-out back then,” Gonzalez said.

“They now have really gotten all-out. PUMA really stepped up when we needed the most and they were really excited on being on-board as the sponsor of the men’s national team.”

The Philippines will begin its campaign in the Mitsubishi Electric Cup against Myanmar on 12 December at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
