Music and the magic of Christmas fill Malacañang

‘Let us keep them in mind and do what Filipinos do: help each other’

What is Christmas, but a season of hope and love, as emphasized in the recent Christmas Tree lighting ceremony held at the Kalayaan Grounds, Malacañang Palace, on the first Sunday of December?

In his speech before special guests, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reminded everyone to help others feel the spirit of the season, especially those who had gone through calamities and other trials in life this year. He encouraged everyone to “keep in mind” fellow Filipinos who are recovering from the recent typhoons and the big fire in Manila.

“Let us keep them in mind and do what Filipinos do: help each other,” the President said.  “We all deserve Christmas.”

The event included the awarding of the top three winners of the National Parol-Making Competition,” Isang Bituin, Isang Mithiin,” showcasing 148 lanterns crafted by public secondary schools to embody the spirit of Paskong Pinoy and Bagong Pilipinas.

Renowned artists such as Jose Mari Chan, The Alice Reyes Dance Philippines and Carla Guevara-Laforteza performed special numbers during the celebration.
