Through the Lab For All program of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, the push for all Filipinos to have decent shelter is quickly moving forward.
The National Housing Authority (NHA) awarded Transfer Certificates of Title (TCTs) to 14 beneficiaries during its participation in the program that brings government services directly to the communities.
NHA general Manager Joeben Tai and NCR-South Sector OIC and concurrent CPD Manager Cromwell Teves led the agency’s delegation in the caravan and oversaw the distribution of the TCTs.
Of the 14 beneficiaries, 11 were members of the Gamban-Cabrera Homeowners Association Inc., two were from the Vergel Solid Interior HOA, and one from Fortune Bus.
Shelter, health services together
NHA maintained a booth in the program to address inquiries regarding its diverse housing programs.
Under Lab For All, primary healthcare services such as free laboratory tests, medical checkups, dental services, and free medicines are provided in support of Republic Act 11223 or the Universal Healthcare Act.
In a brief message, the First Lady highlighted the importance of fulfilling one of her husband’s, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s, pledges to the Filipino people.
“We are here to fulfill the commitment of my husband. In his State of the Nation Address, my husband said ‘We should bring government services closer to the people and not the other way around’,” the First Lady noted.
“Sama-sama tayong babangong muli para sa Bagong Pilipinas (We will rise together for a New Philippines).”
Joining the Lab For All caravan were Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, Public Attorney’s Office chief Persida Rueda-Acosta, Pasay City Rep. Tony Calixto, Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, city councilors, and other national and local government officials.
Other agencies represented at the event were the Department of Health, Department of Agriculture, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Trade and Industry, Food and Drug Administration, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund, Commission on Higher Education, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Land Transportation Office, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and partners from the private sector.
