Finalists for the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) have just been announced, and it is no surprise that Taylor Swift and Zach Bryan emerged as two of the most nominated finalists for the most-awaited awards show of the year, along with Morgan Wallen and Sabrina Carpenter.
Taylor Swift, recognized as the most decorated female artist in BBMA history, holds 16 nods over 17 entries — notably for her global smash hit “Cruel Summer” earning three nominations, chart-topping albums 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and The Tortured Poets Department, and another for Top Artist. She swears she doesn’t love the drama — it loves her!
Also competing for Top Artist is Sabrina Carpenter, who is a finalist in nine categories, including Top Female Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, and summer hit “Espresso,” earning nominations for Top Billboard Global 200 Song and Top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) Song. She leaves quite an impression — five feet, to be exact.
Aside from the domination of the two female pop heavyweights, American musician Zach Bryan leads the pack as one of the most prolific finalists — holding 18 nods across several top-tier categories, such as Top Artist and Top Male Artist.
Morgan Wallen follows closely behind with 15 finalist spots after dominating the 2023 BBMAs with an impressive 11 wins, bagging nominations for Top Artist, Top Male Artist, and five nods for his feature song “I Had Some Help” with Post Malone.
K-pop continues to take the Western music scene by storm as artists like Jung Kook and Stray Kids secure their places in the final nominations for major awards.
Jungkook received five nominations, including Top Global K-Pop Artist, Top K-Pop Album for GOLDEN, and two nods for Top Global K-Pop Song for “Standing Next to You” and “3D” featuring Jack Harlow.
Stray Kids has secured four nominations, competing in categories such as Top Duo/Group, Top Global K-Pop Artist, and Top K-Pop Album for ROCK-STAR and Ate: Mini Album.
Scheduled for 12 December at 8 p.m. EST/PT, the 2024 BBMAs will be streaming worldwide on Fox and Fire TV channels, with on-demand access via Paramount+ in the United States, along with performances available on Billboard.com and the BBMAs’ and Billboard social media platforms.
