Moncada, Tarlac — The Department of Public Works and Highways announced on Wednesday that it has completed two multi-purpose buildings which is seen to provide venues for government agencies to deliver goods and services to the residents here.
DPWH Tarlac 1st District Engineer Neil Farala said that the first two-story multipurpose building that was completed is situated in Barangay Santa Monica, which had an allotted budget of P5.85 million and has a total area of 192.19 square meters.
Farala said the facility will serve both as a day care center and an office for senior citizens, adding that the facility is also equipped with a wheelchair ramp, allowing individuals and senior citizens in the community with mobility concerns ease of access.
Barangay chairperson Bernadine Ferrer expressed his gratitude to the DWPH, citing the significance of the new multipurpose building in their community.
"It is a great help to our barangay, especially to the daycare students because if the children or parents see that their school is good, of course, they will be willing to study," Ferrer said.
The project is under DPWH's Basic Infrastructure Program funded through the General Appropriations Act of 2023 and was implemented to assist the community in supporting improved social services for stakeholders.
Over at Barangay Villa, the DPWH also completed a two-story multipurpose building that will serve as a day care center and a barangay extension office and Farala said that the area is 138 square meters and a budget of P5.86 million.
He said that the facility underscores the agency's dedication in prioritizing youth welfare and local development through the construction of essential community amenities.
"This building ensures that the children in Barangay Villa have a better space equipped with facilities that offer them the best learning experience," Farala said.
The project was implemented under the agency's Basic Infrastructure Program funded through the 2023 General Appropriations Act.
