On Saturday, 30 December, Philippine Airlines apologized to passenger Allison Eduardo Laude for her non-acceptance of flight PR432 bound for Tokyo on December 26 due to the initial assessment of her temporary Canadian passport as a travel document.
PAL said that the airline had verified that the temporary Canadian passport was accepted or approved for travel to Tokyo after they checked it with the immigration authorities in Japan.
Laude was able to fly to Tokyo on the following day, 27 December. She has been assured of proper compensation for the inconvenience she experienced.
Internal actions are being carried out to prevent such occurrences in the future.
It can be recalled that socialite and social media personality Small Laude took to social media to communicate her dismay at the travel woes of daughter Allison, who wasn't able to join the family in Japan because her temporary Canadian passport was not initially accepted as a valid travel document. Small Laude said Alison not being allowed to board her flight ruined the family vacation.
