ZAMBOANGA CITY — The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has awarded 100 housing units to poor families in Indanan, Sulu as part of their gesture of sincerity in bringing new hope for a better quality of life.
BARMM's Ministry of Human Settlements and Development Minister Atty. Hamid Aminoddin Barra said the ceremonial awarding of the newly completed home for the poor was held on Monday.
Barra said the newly constructed housing units valued at P620,000 each will benefit 50 families in Barangay Tubig Dakulah and another 50 families in Barangay Langpas, all located in Indanan town.
He also stressed that MHSD has constructed the houses and the beneficiaries are responsible for transforming them into homes.
"We will turn these houses over to you, but you will turn them into homes. It should embody the three requirements in the Islamic perspective: tranquility, love and compassion," Barra said.
For his part, MHSD-Sulu provincial director Atty. Najira Hassan said that it was the first time that an awarding ceremony of housing settlement was held in Sulu.
