Elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in coordination with the Bureau of Immigration, PNP-Aviation Security Group, Airport Police, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, arrested a member of the New People's Army-Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee last Wednesday, 29 November at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.
The suspect, who is wanted for murder, was about to board Philippine Airlines flight PR 684 bound for Qatar.
According to CIDG Director P/M Gen. Romeo M. Caramat Jr., the 50-year-old NPA member, Jennifer Zamora Abad, also known as Josephine Abad/Peping, was taken into custody by an arrest warrant issued 21 November 2019 by RTC Branch 28 Lianga, Surigao del Sur's Presiding Judge Lilibeth O. Ladaga.
Abad works for NEMRC (Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee) as a member of the Regional Finance Staff. She also helped to consolidate the clearings of RWAS staff personnel allowances and supports RWAC and NEMRC regularly.
The CIDG Director said that she is also in charge of the collection of RBKU (Rebolusyonaryong Buwis sa Kaaway na Uri) in the Surigao del Sur area and has direct contact with the alias "Maria Malaya," Secretary of NEMRC.
"As we continuously support the CPNP's 5-Focused Agenda, P/Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr., particularly about having aggressive and honest law enforcement operations, the CIDG is unrelenting in its fight against criminality, particularly against radicals who sow discord and terror that undermine the nation's peace and security, " the CIDG Director added.
