Police probers are now questioning the family and friends of the missing beauty pageant candidate Catherine Camilon to determine the possible motive for the crime that may further pin down the alleged suspects which include Maj. Allan de Castro.

Calabarzon Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Unit Police Colonel Jacinto Malinao said that based on the testimonies of Camilon's sister, mother and friend, De Castro and the beauty queen were allegedly dating.

"Based on the mother's statement, this is where Catherine met her alleged boyfriend, Major Allan De Castro, and this was also supported by the statement of Catherine's sister, Chin-chin, and the victim's friend, Vanessa, the night before and during the day that Catherine disappeared this is what she found in Batangas City," Malinao said in TV interview on Tuesday.

Malinao said they were able to obtain screenshots of the exchange of messages of De Castro and Camilon which will be part of the evidence against De Castro.

"In the exchange of messages with her friend, Catherine was once hurt and secondly, Catherine was a bit angry when she reported to the husband of our suspect, Major Allan De Castro, that the victim had told her that he had a woman. When Cath gets drunk, it hurts, sometimes she comes home with bruises. That is the most visible motive that prompted this incident," he stressed.

He said De Castro during his interrogation denied all the allegations against him.

De Castro, assigned to the Police Regional Office- 4A and who is allegedly in a relationship with Camilon, is under restrictive custody at the PRO 4A headquarters.

On Monday, a kidnapping case was filed against four persons, including a De Castro, in connection with the disappearance of Camilon in Batangas City lat Oct 12.

PNP information chief and spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said the CIDG 4A said those charged before the Batangas Provincial Prosecutor's Office were Maj. Allan Avena de Castro, Jeffrey Magpantay and two John Does.

Fajardo said the prosecutor will have at least 10 days to evaluate whether the cases referred by the CIDG will reach preliminary investigation.

Fajardo also said the PNP Forensic Group found strands of hair, blood stains and fingerprints in the abandoned red Honda CR-V which was recovered at a vacant lot in Batangas City on 8 November.

Fajardo said the CIDG-4A is now contacting the family of the victim to obtain a DNA sample for comparison.

The police have also identified the registered owner of the recovered vehicle, which was neither involved in any previous case nor was tagged as a stolen vehicle.

Camilon, of Tuy town, was last seen alive at a mall in Lemery town. She also called up her family to say she was in Bauan and was going to a meeting in Batangas City.
