Swiss Embassy highlights breaking gender stereotypes in workplaces

The Embassy of Switzerland in the Philippines held a press conference on Thursday called the Day of Future, an annual Swiss tradition immersing students in real working environments.

Swiss Ambassador Dr. Nicolas Bruhl highlights the kind of action made by the Swiss Embassy to break gender stereotypes in workplaces.

"Today, we spotlighted the importance of breaking gender stereotypes in the workplace. Adversity is a fundamental asset in any society and it's crucial to remove any barriers that limit opportunities in any gender. This is a very important characteristic of the Switzerland work environment," Bruhl said in his speech.

The Swiss Ambassador encouraged the youth to feel free to explore diverse career choices.

"We encourage young men and women to explore diverse career choices. We believe in a future where the future of everyone has freedom to pursue their dreams without discrimination,"

"We believe in empowering students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in an evolving world. Strong connection between our education system and industry allows our youth to explore various career of choices. Thus, promoting holistic approach and development and career development to young Filipinos," he added.

The Embassy of Switzerland welcomed the students of Makati High School as their guests for the Day of Future Program.

Bruhl acknowledged the Philippine-based Swiss companies in the Philippines for opening their doors to Filipino students as they transition from school to workforce.

"I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Swiss companies that have opened their doors to the students. You are offering them valuable insights and experiences that can shape their futures. This commitment nurturing the talents of the next generations reflects Switzerland 's enduring dedication, education, innovation, and gender equality,"
