Popstar Taylor Swift has entered the world billionaires list.
The 33-year-old singer-songwriter is now worth $1.1 billion. She is up $360 million from June when she ranked no. 34 on America's richest self-made women, according to a Bloomberg report.
Revenue from her massive Eras Tour has helped push her net worth to a 10-figure value. The tour, which concluded its US run in August, reportedly added $4.3 billion to the US gross domestic product.
Eras amassed an impressive $780 million in ticket sales and will start an expansive international tour next month.
Meanwhile, the first two weeks of screenings of the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie raked in $35 million. It was filmed over multiple nights during shows at Los Angeles' So-Fi stadium where 40 camera operators and an armada of camera technology were used.
Bloomberg called its analysis of Swift's assets "conservative," based only on "assets and earnings that could be confirmed or traced from publicly disclosed figures."
A part of Swift's wealth comes from the rising value of her music catalog, which is now at $500 million. That's only the music she made since 2019. She is in the process of reclaiming some of her first albums, which are being held by Shamrock Holdings after Scooter Braun sold the catalogue.
Her latest re-recording, 1989 Taylor's Version, was released on 27 October. She has yet to re-release Reputation and Taylor Swift.
Bloomberg said another $500 million of Swift's earnings comes from music royalties and touring, $120 million from YouTube and Spotify streams, $80 million from music sales and $370 million from concert tickets and merchandise.
Forbes magazine also reported that "She is the 15th celebrity in Forbes' rankings to earn the billionaire moniker, and the ninth to do so in the last three years. She is also one of just four musicians to have officially achieved that status."
Unlike her superstar colleagues, Swift doesn't have a profitable side hustle to boost her net worth. Jay-Z was propelled to billionaire status because of his two booze brands, Armand de Brignac and D'usse, and investments in companies like Uber. Rihanna, meawhile, became a billionaire due to the success of Fenty Beauty, a joint venture with luxury brand LVMH, and lingerie line Savage X Fenty.
