The state weather bureau said the weather conditions across the country would be generally most parts of the country may experience fair weather conditions this weekend as the southwest monsoon, or "habagat" begins to weaken.
In its weather outlook issued on Friday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration also said that warm and humid weather conditions may prevail due to the easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean.
PAGASA said the southwest monsoon may shift westward, leading to the prevalence of the easterlies.
Meanwhile, the low-pressure area off north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes is expected to dissipate in the next 12 hours.
However, PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said "habagat" is still bringing rain, especially in areas in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Although isolated downpours and thunderstorms are expected in some parts in the afternoon or at night, Aurelio said fair weather conditions will prevail across the country.
"Starting Sunday and in the coming days, the southwest monsoon will be hardly felt," he added.
Meanwhile, Zambales, Bataan, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga will experience overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to "habagat."
The same weather system with localized thunderstorms, will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country within 24 hours.
The easterlies, on the other hand, may bring warm and humid weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon or evening, in most parts of the country.
PAGASA said this weather scenario may persist until Wednesday next week.
