The unrelenting anti-drug operations conducted by personnel of the Southern Police District resulted in the arrest of 57 individuals and seizure of P1.235 million worth of illegal drugs.
P/Brig. Gen. Roderick Mariano said the successful crackdown was due to the SPD's unwavering dedication to maintaining peace and safety within its jurisdiction and steadfast commitment to justice and the protection of local communities.
In a series of executed drug operations, the SPD achieved significant results, leading to the arrest of 57 individuals involved in illicit drug activities and the confiscation of 181.41 grams of shabu and 18.5 grams of marijuana, with an estimated combined value of₱P1,235,808.
The Taguig City Police Station conducted an operation that resulted in the apprehension of 17 individuals engaged in drug-related offenses, in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
During the operation, authorities seized approximately 101.96 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of P693,328. Both suspects are currently in custody at the Taguig City Police Custodial Facility.
Also, the SPD carried out 27 operations aimed at combating illegal gambling activities, leading to the apprehension of 86 individuals and the confiscation of₱P37,877.
A joint operation conducted by the District Special Operations Unit-Southern Police District and Tambo Police Substation 2, Parañaque CPS resulted in the discovery of three table gaming machines, 170 tokens, a counting machine, three bundles of currency totaling₱P27,000 in various denominations, one 9mm caliber Rock Island M1911 A1-FS firearm, one 9mm magazine, and four rounds of live 9mm ammunition.
To safeguard the public, the SPD conducted eight operations targeting the issue of unsecured firearms, leading to the apprehension of seven individuals and the confiscation of 11 firearms that posed a threat to the community's well-being.
