Apple Inc. has unveiled the iPhone 15 Pro model featuring a universal charging port to comply with European Union condition for devices to be compatible with the USB-C charging cables.

"USB-C has become a universally accepted standard. So we're bringing USB-C to iPhone 15," Kaiann Drance, Apple's vice president of iPhone marketing, said at a launch event.

European Union commissioner Thierry Breton said universal chargers are "common sense" as it will reduce waste and save money for consumers.
EU policymakers said the rule would simplify the lives of Europeans and do away with a mountain of obsolete chargers.

The four varieties of iPhone 15 Pro also allows users to repair it through simplified internal components like a new frame that allows the back glass to be easily replaced.
