Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna on Sunday announced the launch of "Kalinga sa Maynila" to provide a platform for residents to air their concerns and problems directly to her and other city officials.

"Kalinga sa Maynila" is a series of barangay forums where residents can meet with Lacuna and her team to discuss issues such as illegal drugs, traffic, garbage collection, and water supply. The forums will also feature representatives from various city government departments who can provide assistance to residents.

Lacuna said that she wants to make it easier for residents to get their problems solved.

"We want to bring the City Hall to the people," Lacuna said. "We don't want them to have to travel all the way to City Hall just to get help."

The first "Kalinga sa Maynila" forum was held on Saturday at the Plaza del Carmen in Quiapo, Manila. Lacuna was joined by third district Congressman Joel Chua and other city officials.

At the forum, Lacuna assured residents that their concerns would be taken seriously.

"We will do everything we can to help you," said the lady mayor. "Please don't be afraid to come forward and speak up."

Chua, meantime, expressed gratitude to Lacuna for launching the program which is a welcome initiative that will help to improve the lives of residents.

"This is a great way for residents to get their voices heard," Chua said. "I encourage everyone to participate in these forums."
