Injured Mycah Go embraces role as CSB assistant coach

DAILY TRIBUNE

NCAA Season 97 Most Valuable Player Mycah Go takes on a new role as an assistant coach for the College of Saint Benilde this year while recovering from her acute cruciate ligament (ACL) tear injury.

Speaking after the Lady Blazers' 25-17, 25-20, 25-8 win over Emilio Aguinaldo College in the NCAA Season 98 women's volleyball tournament at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila on Wednesday, head coach Jerry Yee said her appearance inside the court helps calm down her wards in tense situations.

"We put her there so that the players can see her. They will calm down knowing Mycah is still with the team," Yee said.

"She's a calming presence inside the court. She can whisper instructions just like she did as a team captain."

Go admits she feels nervous whenever her team plays, regardless if she's on the court or on the sidelines.

"I still feel nervous because I don't want anything bad happening to the team," Go said.

Go acquired her injury last month in a practice game.
