Manila LGU marks new milestone

The digital wallet service provider recognized the tremendous increase in online transactions for online payments in 2022 via the city’s Go Manila App

The local government of Manila recently bagged the "Excellence in Digital in Public Service" award given by e-wallet application GCash in the recent Excellence Awards.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna disclosed that the digital wallet service provider recognized the tremendous increase in online transactions for online payments in 2022 via the City's Go Manila App and its website.

Lacuna said that the platforms have incorporated GCash payments for business and real property taxes, applications for civil licenses and certifications, cedulas and permits, adding that Manila is the only local government unit to be given the Excellence in Digital Public Service recognition.

The mayor also lauded the Universidad de Manila, headed by Ma. Felma Carlos-Tria, after it attained an above national passing rate in nursing board exams.

The UDM achieved an overall rating of 87.61 percent in the November 2022 Philippine Nurse Board Examination, exceeding the national passing rate of 74.40 percent.

Lacuna said that a rating of 93.88 percent for first-time takers was attained by the university, with 92 graduates obtaining the passing mark.
