‘Druggies’ yield P3.5-M shabu

The Police Regional Office in Region 7 reported that joint police operations led to the arrest of three individuals who yielded a total of 510 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated worth of P3.5 million.

In the first operation, operatives from the Police Station 3 of the Mandaue City Police Office nabbed two individuals identified as James Anthony Paunil alias Jimpoy and Riza Lanquido Melorin. Paunil is regarded as a high-value individual.

The sting at Barangay Subangdako in Mandaue City also yielded 310 grams of suspected shabu with a value of P2,108,000, the buy-bust money, a bag and a cellular phone.

In another operation on the same day, police netted a 26-year-old female high-value individual who possessed 200 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,360,000 in a buy-bust operation by the City Drug Enforcement Unit of Mandaue City Police Office.

The suspect — identified as Niven Moncada Cuesta was arrested at Quano Avenue and recovered from her were the buy-bust money and a gray pouch.

PRO7 director Police Brigadier General Rodrick Augustus Alba lauded the operatives of Mandaue police for the achievement.
