NREA joins gov’t to achieve 6 million houses in 6 years

In a bid to produce a million houses per year or six million houses during the tenure of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., real estate practitioners attached to the National Real Estate Association have expressed their desire and readiness to join an industry-wide grand plan to implement and assure the achievement of the government's goal.

NREA urged the formulation of plans that will converge and synergize the various government agencies and private sector groups' initiatives and resources towards the successful implementation of the six million housing objective in 2023, to be led by the Department of Human Settlements and Human Developments.

In a press statement, Architect Ronnie Biando, NREA national president, said NREA will announce its intention to formally join a convergence plan for housing when NREA holds its 31st Anniversary, Business Meeting and Christmas Celebration on 25 November, Friday, at the Grand Ballroom of the Diamond Hotel, Roxas Boulevard, starting at 7 p.m.

The gathering will be graced by OFW Partylist Representative Marissa Del Mar Magsino and DHSUD secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar as Guests of Honor and speakers.

Also, National Housing Authority general manager Joeben Tai will be discussing the topic: "Aligning the National Housing Authority's Programs towards Zero Informal Sector Families."

Colliers International associate director Joey Bondoc will talk on "The Economy and Real Estate Industry Outlook in 2023."

Pag-IBIG Fund Department Manager III for Institutional Housing Dept. Corporate Sales Group, Jacqueline Constantino will also talk on the topic: "Countryside Housing Initiatives and Acquired Assets Disposal Programs."

NREA Honorary member, DepEd Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III, and heads of Key Shelter Agencies, among others, were also invited as special guests.

For her part, Board vice chairperson Imelda Magtoto, said that the in-person event attendees' profile will be government agencies, small and medium business owners, entrepreneurs, investors, heads of sales and marketing, business development directors, real estate professionals, online home loan experts, software solution company and members of the media.

NREA will also recognize exemplary members, chapters, and chapter presidents, among others.
