The heavy downpour the past few days brought about by Typhoon Paeng did not dampen the spirits of dozens of fun-loving kids to don their Halloween
-inspired costumes and partake in the annual ENCANTRICK or Treat in the Wild at the Cebu Safari and Adventure Park.
The whole-day event featured several exciting activities for everyone to commemorate the spooky season while in the company of family and friends.
Kids explored their imagination and showcased their creativity through watercolor paintings. They were encouraged to brush colors of their choice, with some painting trees and flowers, clouds and skies. Others painted animated animals and toys.
After a delectable lunch, the youngsters gathered at the Safari Playground for the Scavenger Hunt and scampered around for unusual items. An added treat for everyone were the tasty goodies and special prizes that included t-shirts, key chains and assorted animal neck pillows — all curated pieces from the well-stocked Safari Souvenir Shop – which they brought home, putting smile on everyone's contented faces.
The highlight of the event was the parade of costumes, with some dressed as Spiderman, Ironman and Wolverine from the Marvel Universe, Batman from DC Comics, and Anya from the famous Spy x Family Japanese manga and anime series, to name a few inspirations.
The winners were all dressed as fictional characters of the Madrigal family, the main characters of Walt Disney animation Studio's 60th feature film entitled Encanto. Oshi Batusbatusan as Mirabel Madrigal clinched First Place, Athiva King as Isabela Madrigal was hailed as Second Place, while Lucas Melzacharie Marcos Tan as Bruno Madrigal was crowned Third Place. They took home special prizes and gift certificates from Dygitally Yours.
It was a lively and successful event that had the children asking for more, with bigger expectations for the next Halloween at the Cebu Safari and Adventure Park.
The cheerful spirits resonated throughout the city, as Paradise Village had their very own sought-after slot-full traditional trick-or-treat celebrations, where each resident prepared special tokens and bites to eat. Meanwhile, in addition to fun private parties, the grown-ups found solace at Cebu Country Club, where they had a relaxed let-your-hair-down Halloween party to make up for their oft-postponed get-togethers.
