The San Juan City government ordered yesterday the mandatory evacuation of residents in danger zones amid the threat of severe tropical storm "Paeng."
San Juan River has reached a warning level of 12.79 meters or just 0.21 meter shy of the critical level.
At least 26 families or 69 individuals were sheltered at various evacuation centers in the city.
The local government also placed rescue boats at strategic areas of at-risk places in San Juan City.
All eight pumping stations in San Juan City were up and running, it said.
Reported knee-deep floodings in the city subsided immediately due to the pumping of water out of the streets, the LGU added.
Meanwhile, the local government of Pasig City closed yesterday the city's public cemetery due to "Paeng."
"The Pasig City Cemetery was closed (except for those with funerals)," Mayor Vico Sotto said in a Facebook post.
