Mbappé stars as France joins Norway, Mexico in Round of 16

Ivory Coast's deepest World Cup run came to an end after a 2-1 loss to Norway in the Round of 32.
RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa opened the scoring with a curling strike into the top corner before Manchester City star Erling Haaland netted the decisive late winner.
Ivory Coast struggled to keep possession for much of the match, but substitute Amad Diallo nearly sparked a comeback. The Manchester United winger scored a brilliant solo goal after weaving through several Norwegian defenders just 30 minutes after entering the match.
Diallo almost forced extra time in stoppage time with a spectacular free kick, but Norway goalkeeper Ørjan Håskjold Nyland produced a crucial save to preserve the victory.
The Vikings advance to the Round of 16, where they will face Brazil in New York.

France continued its dominant World Cup campaign with a 3-0 victory over Sweden to book a Round of 16 meeting with Paraguay.
Kylian Mbappé scored twice to raise his tournament total to six goals, tying Lionel Messi for the Golden Boot lead.
Michael Olise assisted both Mbappé and Bradley Barcola, bringing his tournament-leading assist tally to five in four matches. Reigning Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembélé also contributed an assist.
Sweden's highly touted strike partnership of Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres failed to produce a goal as Les Bleus remained unbeaten in the tournament.

Co-host Mexico continued its defensive masterclass with a 2-0 victory over Ecuador to advance to the Round of 16.
Julián Quiñones opened the scoring in the 21st minute after finishing a pass from Roberto Alvarado.
Ten minutes later, Raúl Jiménez doubled Mexico's advantage after combining with Quiñones. The goal made Jiménez Mexico's all-time leading scorer with 47 international goals.
Nineteen-year-old Gilberto Mora impressed throughout the match, while goalkeeper Raúl Rangel denied Ecuador's best chance with a save on John Yeboah.
Ecuador's frustrations boiled over as Piero Hincapié was sent off, while captain Moisés Caicedo was booked.
Mexico preserved another clean sheet and advanced to face the winner of the England-DR Congo Round of 32 match.
