The crime rate in the eastern part of Metro Manila dropped by 4.52 percent, the Eastern Police District (EPD) said on Wednesday.
Comparative data for the weeks of 2–8 February and 9–15 February 2026 reveal a notable downward trend in criminal activity, with total crime volume falling from 103 to 82 cases.
This decline was accompanied by a 100 percent crime clearance and crime solution efficiency rate, signaling that offenses are being resolved as effectively as they are prevented.
Specifically, index crimes decreased from 14 to 13, while non-index crimes fell sharply from 89 to 69. Consequently, the average weekly crime rate improved from 22.18 to 17.66, reflecting a safer environment across the district’s four cities.
Key operational accomplishments driving this success include:
Anti-illegal drugs campaign: 30 operations conducted, resulting in the arrest of 37 individuals and the confiscation of 93.71 grams of shabu and marijuana, with an estimated standard drug price of P597,148.
Manhunt operations: 9 most-wanted persons and 54 other wanted individuals arrested.
Campaign against loose firearms: 6 operations conducted, 6 offenders arrested, 2 firearms confiscated, and 2 firearms surrendered.
Anti-illegal gambling operations: 16 operations conducted, resulting in the apprehension of 27 individuals and the confiscation of P4,625 in bet money.
By integrating 24/7 patrols, swift tactical responses, and intelligence-driven operations, the EPD relentlessly targets criminal activities, sending a clear message that Metro East is not a safe place for offenders.
Relentless and well-coordinated police deployments in the cities of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan effectively disrupted crime and shortened response times.
Supported by strong partnerships with local government units and barangay officials, these operations created a robust, community-based framework for peace and order.
