CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director, Rogelio I. Peñones Jr., on Tuesday commended the Aurora Police Provincial Office (PPO) for implementing a comprehensive series of projects and upgrades aimed at improving its infrastructure, operational capabilities, and personnel- and community-focused programs.
These initiatives, spearheaded by PCOL Robert Petate, Provincial Director of Aurora PPO, have been implemented since June 2025.
“These initiatives demonstrate how leadership, innovation, and community partnership can work together to enhance police service delivery,” Peñones stated.
Among the key infrastructure developments is the establishment of a solar-powered command center, designed to ensure operational continuity, particularly during emergencies and power interruptions, by utilizing sustainable energy.
Further enhancements to the PPO’s facilities include new constructions such as the Sinag-Laya Children’s Park, alongside renovations to existing structures like the grotto and administration building, as well as the addition of a Heroes Wall and improved pathways. An upgraded main gate arch, a stage area, and an oval track have also been developed, contributing to a better environment for both personnel and visitors.
To bolster operational response, the police office introduced Project BERT (Bicycle-Enhanced Rapid Team), utilizing bicycles and equipment to improve police visibility and speed of response. Petate highlighted that this project enables “faster and more accessible police response, particularly in areas where mobility is limited.”
For personnel welfare, the PPO launched Project RLP (Fitness and Healthy Lifestyles) and Project HEROES (Ethical Digital Practices), initiatives that, according to Petate, “embody the Philippine National Police’s community-based approach to both online peacekeeping and public safety in the digital era.”
Technological and logistical upgrades were also noted, encompassing expanded CCTV coverage, new portable radios, operational motorcycles, solar-powered light posts, and centralized monitoring, often in partnership with local government units.
Peñones said these programs support the PNP Focused Agenda and reflect PRO3’s strategic direction anchored on the 3Ps — Protect the People, Pursue Peace and Order, and Promote Professionalism.
