Authorities are preparing for large crowds Sunday as Pasig City celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Bambino Grand Festival with a religious procession and a citywide parade.
The festivities honoring the Child Jesus, or Señor Sto. Niño, will begin with a 1 p.m. Thanksgiving Mass at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Pasig.
The highlight of the event, the Bambino Grand Parade, is scheduled for 4 p.m. The procession will feature images of the Child Jesus from 13 city parishes, alongside representatives from non-governmental organizations and the private sector.
The parade will move through E. Caruncho Avenue and conclude at the cathedral for a formal blessing of the religious images.
Pasig City police urged attendees Friday to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals or objects to officers stationed along the route. The local police force has released hotline numbers for residents and visitors requiring immediate assistance.
For those unable to attend the event in person, the Pasig City Public Information Office will provide a livestream of the Mass and parade on its official Facebook page.
