Esports World Cup Foundation has unveiled the national team representation framework for the Esports Nations Cup 2026 (ENC), opening applications for official National Team Partners for the country-based esports tournament set to debut in Riyadh in November.

The Esports Nations Cup will introduce a structured, recurring national team competition to the global esports calendar, allowing players to compete under their national flags. It will complement the club-based Esports World Cup by emphasizing national identity and fan engagement.

Under the framework, selected National Team Partners will be responsible for organizing and representing their national esports teams, coordinating with coaches, clubs, and game partners, and leading marketing and community engagement efforts in their respective countries. Competitive integrity and player eligibility will remain governed by ENC rules.

To support the long-term growth of nation-based esports ecosystems, the foundation will establish the ENC Development Fund, committing at least $20 million annually starting in 2026. The fund will cover travel and logistics for participating teams and support fan-facing activities such as training camps, exhibition matches, watch parties, and national team tours.

“The purpose of the Esports World Cup Foundation is to elevate esports and make it sustainable,” said Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation. “The Esports Nations Cup is a natural next step in that journey. By opening this application process, we are inviting trusted National Team Partners to help define the framework for how countries and territories are represented in esports with clear roles, aligned governance, and a system that works for players, game partners, and fans alike.”

Eligible applicants include esports organizations, clubs, agencies, NGOs, national esports and sports federations, government-mandated entities, content creators, and experienced esports professionals with strong national ecosystem ties.

Applications are open until 31 January 2026, with the first group of National Team Partners expected to be announced early this year. The Esports Nations Cup will be held every two years, with future editions planned under a rotating host city model.
