If you’re looking for wagyu that will not break the bank and a burger that stays juicy with golden buns to match, Masajiro Burger is the spot for you. There is no gatekeeping here because it easily fits into any craving, whether it is an after-school hangout, merienda with the family, or a well-earned treat after a long workday. Located in Glorietta 2 and originally from Fukuoka, Japan, Masajiro was brought to the Philippines through the Joson family’s love for food and travel. This branch is the only Masajiro Burger outside of Japan, making the experience even more special for Filipino diners who dream of an authentic Japanese gastronomic adventure but may not have the time or resources to fly out yet.

“Freshness is always at the heart of everything that we do,” says Claudia Joson-Coronado, president of JGYU Corporation and director of Operations for Masajiro Burger Philippines. She shared how a small-town bakery in Fukuoka that sold bread pans and pastries eventually became part of the soul of Masajiro. It is this commitment to quality that sets the brand apart. Even the buns, often overlooked or expected to be dry, shine as one of the biggest reasons behind Masajiro’s success. Masajiro Philippines maintains the same promise of freshness, serving burgers with wagyu patties and signature sauces made without shortcuts. After trying the menu, DAILY TRIBUNE has never seen Japanese burgers the same way again.

First up was the Massamax, an elevated take on the classic cheeseburger. The addition of panko breaded mozzarella surprisingly works. It still has the American cheese, tomato, lettuce, wagyu patty, mozzarella sticks, and those fluffy golden buns. One bite is enough to make you want more, and you will often see diners nodding in approval after trying it.

Next was the Teriyaki Burger. Many expected a sweet, familiar teriyaki flavor, but this one takes a different direction. It is savory and well balanced, almost as if the sauce infused into the wagyu patty. From the author’s perspective, it became an unexpected favorite.

For those who think Masajiro only excels at burgers, the Masa’s fish and chips offers a refreshing break from the meat. The golden fries are thick, fresh and satisfying.

Other offerings include the Menchi Star, a beef and pork katsu breaded in Japanese panko. For drinks, they have vanilla, matcha, strawberry and chocolate milkshakes. If the sweet cravings persist, their Hokkaido soft serve is a must-try.
