Taking a step forward from his State of the Nation Address (SONA) promise to publicize the list of flood control projects, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday led the launch of a website where members of the public can track each project.

With the website named sumbongsapangulo.ph, Marcos said the public can directly scrutinize unfinished or “ghost” projects by reporting their progress in real time. The data is provided by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) itself.

“We have done it. We have received the list from DPWH. We, I think, have put it into a form that is accessible to the public,” he said during a press conference at Kalayaan Hall.

“And most importantly, it is in a form that the public can use so that they can first, identify the flood control projects that are within their area, within their barangay, so that they can actually go and look at it,” he added.

On the website, users can navigate by region, province or city, type of work, and funding year of the project.

In this way, Marcos said the public can tell if the project has delivered good results, as well as identify issues.

“If they already have information, they can tell us about it — kung maganda ‘yung naging project, kung hindi maganda ‘yung naging project, bakit hindi maganda ‘yung naging project, ano naging problema, et cetera, et cetera. And that’s what the present website is supposed to do,” he said.

Marcos also presented a video demonstration of the website’s features. He added that the government is open to suggestions on how to improve the platform moving forward.

“We are very much open to suggestions. If the people want us to put more info or other info onto the website, we will certainly do that,” he said.

Meanwhile, Marcos clarified that the website does not constitute an assessment and is not an accusation against anyone.

“They are not assessments. We are not accusing anyone of anything yet. However, it gives us an idea of how this has been conducted. So, I hope people will take advantage of this. And as I said, there is always a way for them to give their comments,” he said.

“Let them report it if that's what they want to do. Or they can say: no, there's no problem here. That's the best news we could receive,” he added.

The website has been available for public access since Monday.
