Twin low-pressure areas (LPAs) are currently being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The first LPA was located approximately 1,220 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon, while the second was spotted 405 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan.
State meteorologists said both LPAs have a "medium" chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Monsoon rains brought by the southwest monsoon are expected to affect Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Occidental Mindoro.
Flooding or landslides are possible due to moderate to heavy, and at times intense, rainfall in the affected areas.
On Sunday, 20 July, PAGASA said the LPA was unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone. However, if it does, it will be named "Dante."
PAGASA earlier projected that two or three tropical cyclones could develop within or enter PAR this July.
Last week, heavy rains from the "habagat" enhanced by Tropical Cyclone Crising caused widespread flooding and landslides across the country, leaving at least five people dead.
