While road crashes usually involve a car colliding with another vehicle or pedestrians, aviation accidents more likely to involve planes crashing into a structure or the ground.
On 12 July, residents of a neighborhood in Pembroke Pines, Florida, were surprised by a small plane crashing into a tree. The video of the crash and rescue, caught by home and neighborhood CCTV cameras, went viral on social media.
Neighbors came to the rescue, pulling out all four people from the burning plane and sending them to a hospital, ABC News reports.
In an unusual road crash, a house in Sitio Roosevelt, Barangay Busay, Cebu City was unexpectedly hit on 1 July. The Magno family felt their house shake and heard the windows shatter, GMA Regional TV reports.
When family members went outside to check, they were shocked to see heavy equipment on the roof.
The driver of the payloader, which has a front bucket for scooping dirt, apparently lost his brakes while moving it downhill during some construction work, according to GMA Regional TV.
Aside from the roof, a wall and a room of the house were damaged in the crash, though no one was hurt, the report said. A nearby store was also damaged.
Two backhoes removed the payloader by pulling it from the roof.
