This July, the hopia craze goes full blast as Eng Bee Tin, the beloved home of the country’s most iconic hopia, celebrates the second National Hopia Day (NHD) — this time on a grander, nationwide scale!

Now in its 113th year, Eng Bee Tin continues to honor its Filipino-Chinese roots through hopia, that flaky, flavorful treat we’ve all come to associate with home, heritage and heartfelt connection. But this year, it’s more than just tradition — it’s a movement.

From Luzon to Visayas to Mindanao, National Hopia Day 2025 brings Eng Bee Tin’s signature flavors and festive spirit closer to more Filipino communities. For the entire month of July, hopia lovers can enjoy 10 percent off select items every Monday, leading up to a main event weekend on 18 to 20 July, with a whopping 20 percent discount in all participating branches.

The celebrations hits Cebu (Robinsons Galleria Cebu, 16 to 20 July) and Davao (Gaisano Mall Davao, 23 to 27 July) through special regional pop-ups, complete with games, giveaways and exclusive flavors.

Etneb and Chili Mansi

At the heart of this year’s celebration is the launch of the much-awaited Hopia Etneb — a P20-hopia born out of a vision shared by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Eng Bee Tin chief operating officer Gerik Chua during his previous term. With Mayor Isko now back in office, the affordable hopia dream becomes reality.

“This has been a long-standing request from Mayor Isko — he’s a huge fan,” said Jerick Chua, Eng Bee Tin’s R&D lead. “And now, just for National Hopia Day, we’re finally launching it!”

Joining Hopia Etneb in the limited-edition lineup is the bold and fiery Chili Mansi Hopia, a game-changing flavor fusion that’s both nostalgic and adventurous. These two headline a slate of new releases, including Mango Hopia and Pineapple with Salted Egg, which bring a refreshing twist to the classic hopia experience.

Flavor and Filipino spirit

“This isn’t just about selling hopia,” emphasized COO Gerik Chua. “It’s about honoring our roots, our people and how food connects generations.”

“Every hopia tells a story,”echoed Finance Manager Roche Chua. “And through National Hopia Day, we get to tell the story of family, culture and comfort in the form of food.”

Gerald Chua, head of operations, added, “This is for every Filipino who grew up with us, supported us, and made us part of their lives. National Hopia Day is our salamat po to them.”

Of course, crowd favorites like the Hopia Hakot Challenge are back, giving fans the chance to scoop up up to P15,000 worth of hopia goodies in just 30 seconds of pure, delightful chaos.

And as always, the meaning behind the brand stands proudly:

Eng means Forever. Bee means Beautiful. Tin means Precious.

A perfect description for a treat — and a tradition — that has stood the test of time.
