The Chaine des Rotisseurs is a prestigious international gastronomic society committed to celebrating and advancing the art of fine dining, the culinary arts and the enjoyment of exceptional food and wine.

Within this organization exists a distinguished specialized branch known as the Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Degustatuers (OMGD). This exclusive section is dedicated to connoisseurs and enthusiasts who have a profound appreciation for the sensory experience of tasting and evaluating fine wines and gourmet foods.

At the recent OMGD intimate gathering held at the Marble + Grain of Bai Hotel, invitees were warmly welcomed in style. Upon arrival, each one was presented with a glass of impeccably chilled premium Spanish sparkling wine, specifically the Cava Freixenet Vintage Reserva Brut.

This exquisite sparkling wine, perfectly complemented carefully curated selection of appetizers that included gambas, crispy golden croquettes, aged Manchego cheese and thinly sliced savory Jamon Serrano. Together these flavors created a harmonious and inviting start to the evening, setting a sophisticated tone for the celebration.

Partway through the appetizers course, the esteemed civic leader, Dr. Vivina Chiu took a moment to address the guests. She delivered an insightful and engaging information about the selection of Spanish wines featured for the evening’s tasting.

To start she introduced the Marques de Murrieta Reserva 2018 from the renowned Rioja region, highlighting its rich heritage and balanced complexity. Following this she spoke about the Beronia Reserva 2019, another exceptional Rioja wine known for its vibrant character and elegant structure.

Then came the Protos 5 Años Reserva 2018 from the Burgos area of Ribera del Duero. She then presented the Ramon Bilbao Reserva 2016,emphasizing its distinctive qualities and the unique terroir that shapes its flavor profile. Finally, Dr. Chui showcased the Beronia Gran Reserva 2016, a full bodied with silky tannins and a long smooth finish.

Her commentary not only deepened the guests’ appreciation of the wines, but also set an inviting tone for the evenings culinary journey.

The entire team at Bai Hotel surpassed all expectations with their flawless service and exceptional attitude.
