This has been the goal of Mega Prime Foods Inc. and as it celebrates 50 years in the industry, it reflects on its journey from a fishing company to a major food producer in Southeast Asia.
The company now manufactures over 3 million cans of sardines daily from its facilities in Batangas and Zamboanga.

"Our fish go from sea to can in just 12 hours, compared to the industry’s usual 1–3 days. That freshness is our edge," said Tiu Lim.
This commitment recently led to the company's sardines being designated a "Superfood" by the Medical Wellness Association (MWA), marking the first time a seafood product has received this recognition.
James Michael Lafferty, an MWA Board Member, presented the distinction during the company's 50th-anniversary celebration, acknowledging the brand's contribution to global wellness.
Under the leadership of president and CEO Michelle Tiu Lim-Chan, the second generation of the founding family, the company plans for global expansion while maintaining its core values.
"We are people-first," Lim-Chan said. "We serve our customers, support our employees, and provide opportunities to improve lives. Growth is not just about geography—it’s about purpose."
The company has expanded its product lines beyond sardines to include tuna, mackerel, fruit cocktails, coconut gel, non-alcoholic sparkling juices and a functional beverage line.
"Our proudest achievement is our ability to turn compassion into tangible, quality products," Lim-Chan added, looking ahead to future growth.
