Moonton Games, the developer behind Mobile Legends, has unveiled a revamped format for the upcoming Mid Season Cup, set to run from 10 July to 2 August in Riyadh.
The tournament will now feature a third-place match and a new draw system, part of Moonton's push to elevate the standard of esports competition.
"This year's refreshed format embodies our commitment to pushing boundaries in esports by challenging teams to adapt to the unfamiliar," said Moonton Global Head of Esports Tiger Xu.
"With new tactical layers like the draw mechanic and refinements to team progression, we're creating a more dynamic playing field."
New tactical elements include a Knockout Stage draw mechanic, where undefeated teams from the Group Stage can choose their opponents. Priority will go to those with the shortest total match time.
"Mobile Legends Esports goes beyond just gameplay and mechanics. Teams will now be tested on their preparation, decision-making, and adaptability under pressure," Xu added. "This format is going to challenge players in new ways, and fans around the world are in for some truly exciting matches."
The grand final will be a best-of-seven showdown, with the champion taking home $1 million from a $3 million prize pool.
