The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is urging the public to be cautious about a fake website circulating online that falsely claims to allow users to check for No Contact Apprehension Program (NCAP) violations. The site, titled May Violation Ba?, is not officially sanctioned, and the MMDA has advised motorists not to input their plate numbers or share the link to prevent confusion and potential misuse of personal data.
In an advisory, the MMDA warned netizens to avoid posting and sharing the link to prevent confusion. It also cautioned against entering personal information like plate numbers into the website. Authorities assured the public that the MMDA is currently developing an official website for NCAP and will announce its release in the coming week.
This warning comes amid heightened public attention on traffic management, as the government prepares for the start of the EDSA rehab project, a major rehabilitation effort set to begin on the 13 June and projected to end in 2027.
To ease the expected congestion, MMDA Chair Don Artes announced the return of the odd-even traffic scheme, which will be implemented 24/7 along EDSA. Vehicles with license plates ending in odd numbers (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) will be barred from EDSA on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Those with even-numbered plates (2, 4, 6, 8, 0) cannot use EDSA on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Sundays will be exempt. A dry run of the scheme will begin on June 16, during which violators will be ticketed but not fined.
To support the EDSA rebuild and reduce vehicle volume, several other measures will be implemented:
A toll holiday will be enforced on parts of the Skyway Stage 3 used as alternate routes.
Provincial buses and trucks will be temporarily banned from EDSA from 5 AM to 10 PM.
Bike lane separators will be removed and a dedicated motorcycle lane will be opened.
The Edsa Busway will remain operational, with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) deploying 100 additional buses to encourage commuters to use public transport.
The MRT-3 will operate with additional train sets, and X-ray scanners in all stations will be removed to speed up passenger flow.
