The Philippine Stock Exchange Inc. (PSE) announced on Thursday that it is planning to modernize its trading infrastructure through a major partnership expansion with global technology firm Nasdaq.
In a move to enhance the local market’s operational resilience and global competitiveness, the PSE will adopt Nasdaq Eqlipse Trading, the most advanced iteration of Nasdaq’s multi-asset marketplace platform.
“With technology as a key area in our strategic agenda, it is important for PSE to work with a trusted service provider of market technologies,” PSE president and CEO Ramon S. Monzon said.
Continuity guaranteed
“Given this, PSE opted to renew its partnership with Nasdaq to ensure continuity in offering a dependable trading system that meets all our current and future requirements.”
The shift to Nasdaq Eqlipse marks a significant upgrade in the PSE’s digital infrastructure, enabling the bourse to benefit from a modular and interoperable system architecture that supports pre-trade risk management, advanced options pricing, and real-time index calculations.
Launched earlier this year, Nasdaq Eqlipse is the fourth-generation platform developed as part of the company’s five-year investment plan to strengthen global capital market infrastructure. It boasts a flexible deployment model designed to reduce operational complexities and support both on-premise and cloud-based adoption.
Magnus Haglind, head of Marketplace Technology at Nasdaq, emphasized the impact of the collaboration.
“Our technology partnership with PSE will help strengthen its market infrastructure, and we’re excited to support their efforts to elevate Philippine capital markets on the global stage,” Haglind said.
The partnership positions the Philippines among a growing list of over 135 global market operators using Nasdaq’s infrastructure, signaling stronger technological alignment with international financial markets.
