Lamoiyan Corporation is welcoming the summer season by bringing its long-running health initiatives to more communities. This year, the company is continuing its Kilusang Kontra Kuto (KKK) campaign alongside the Hapee Kiddie Caravan, reaching out to children and families in Metro Manila, Bulacan, and Cavite.
The Kilusang Kontra Kuto, now in its ninth year, is led by Lamoiyan’s Licealiz Head Lice Treatment Shampoo. Since its launch in 2016, the campaign has been committed to eliminating head lice infestations and correcting the myths and stigma that surround the condition. This summer, Lamoiyan is pairing this effort with the Hapee Kiddie Caravan to promote better oral health among children.
“This year, we are thrilled to broaden our support to our community. Because of the strong and positive reception our KKK campaign received in the last years, we are bringing the Hapee Kiddie Caravan on board. Aside from ensuring that our kids can enjoy a kuto-free summer, we will also provide them valuable information on how they can start practicing good and proper oral health at a young age,” shared Isabella Emelo, Lamoiyan Marketing Representative.
Summer is a peak season for lice outbreaks, as the warm and humid weather provides the ideal environment for lice to thrive. Children, often engaged in outdoor play and summer activities, are more prone to head-to-head contact and the sharing of personal items like combs, hats, and towels. These habits increase the risk of spreading lice, regardless of a child’s hygiene.
Lamoiyan continues to raise awareness about the reality of head lice. One of the most common misconceptions is that lice infestation is a result of poor hygiene, or that only girls are affected. The company emphasizes that even clean hair can be infested through direct contact. Another concern is the use of unsafe remedies like mayonnaise or kerosene. Licealiz offers a safer, scientifically tested solution with Pyrethrin, a natural extract from chrysanthemum flowers that kills lice and nits when used regularly.
Alongside hair health, the Hapee Kiddie Caravan promotes proper oral hygiene, especially during a season when children consume more sugary food and drinks. When sugar mixes with bacteria in the mouth, it produces sugar acid, which attacks tooth enamel and causes decay. Hapee Kiddie Toothpaste contains 1,000 ppm fluoride, the level recommended by the Philippine Pediatric Dental Society, Inc. A pea-sized amount is enough to help prevent cavities when used with proper brushing habits.
Lamoiyan’s community activities include free shampooing sessions using Licealiz and supervised brushing exercises with Hapee Kiddie Toothpaste in 12 barangays. These efforts aim to help children stay lice-free while also protecting their teeth from decay.
By combining the Kilusang Kontra Kuto with the Hapee Kiddie Caravan, Lamoiyan is creating a healthier and more confident generation of Filipino kids through the promotion of better hygiene practices.
