The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), led by general manager Melquiades A. Robles, awarded a total of P2.2 million in financial assistance to three qualified non-governmental organizations under its Institutional Partnership Program (IPP).
The ceremonial turnover was held on Friday, 28 March at the PCSO Main Office along Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
The three beneficiaries, which provide critical care and services to marginalized and vulnerable sectors, received the following amounts:
St. Joseph Home for Special Children Inc., a facility catering to children with special needs in Pangasinan, received P900,000, accepted by Sr. Leoncia V. Mateo, O.P. The donation will support the home’s medical and nutritional programs, daily operations, and therapy sessions for children under its care.
The Ruth Foundation for Palliative and Hospice Care Inc., based in Muntinlupa, was granted P800,000, received by its General Manager B-Etta P. Ayon. The foundation provides medical, psychological, and spiritual support to terminally ill patients and their families.
Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly, a religious-run institution serving neglected and abandoned senior citizens in Cebu, received P500,000, accepted by Mother Superior Sr. Sandra Da Silva. The funds will be used for medicines, daily sustenance, and upkeep of the facility’s elderly residents.
PCSO general manager Robles emphasized the agency’s commitment to social responsibility and supporting organizations that champion care for the sick, elderly, and persons with special needs.
“Our goal is to ensure that help reaches those who are often unseen but are most in need. Through our Institutional Partnership Program, we are able to provide direct support to those who dedicate their lives to caring for others,” Robles said during the awarding ceremony.
The Institutional Partnership Program is one of PCSO’s key initiatives that extends financial aid to institutions in the health and welfare sectors. It covers assistance for the purchase of medical supplies, equipment, food, utilities, and other operational needs essential for delivering services to their beneficiaries.
The event also served as a platform for the PCSO to encourage other eligible institutions to apply for funding under the IPP, as part of the agency’s efforts to expand its impact and reach underserved communities nationwide.
