Metis College has partnered with Woolf University to offer a globally accredited MBA and has also collaborated with Saïd Business School - University of Oxford, to provide access to Oxford Online Programmes delivered by the School — short, intensive courses designed for working professionals seeking real-world application and academic rigor.
The programs are designed with eight-week terms and monthly start dates, allowing students to apply their learning immediately — often while working full-time.
“Our students aren’t preparing for the future,” said Metis director of learning Trisha Roque-Oreta. “They’re already in it. They need space to grow while staying in motion.”
At the launch event at F1 Hotel in BGC, Taguig City, on 29 March, keynote speaker and renowned motivational speaker Francis Kong shared, “In a world like this, you and I will always be rookies. What matters is how fast you adapt — and what you do with what you learn.”
“You don’t wait to be perfect before stepping forward,” Kong added. “The world won’t wait with you. You lead while learning.”
Kong's message resonated with Metis’ design, as its MBA program evolves from foundational business skills to applied strategy, culminating in a final capstone challenge.
Kong also reframed burnout as a deeper misalignment. “You’re tired because you’re living someone else’s story,” he said. “If you don’t define your direction, the world will define it for you.” He challenged attendees with four questions: Who am I? Why am I here? What should I do? Where should I go?
“This generation doesn’t lack information,” Kong remarked. “They’re starving for meaning. Education must start there.”
Metis positions education as a system of tools — not status. Students can stack short courses, earn certificates, or pursue a full MBA. The model is modular, flexible, and global, with opportunities for international immersion and selected engagement with Oxford Saïd faculty and access to Saïd Business School - University of Oxford’s e-lumni network.
“The MBA is career-relevant from day one,” Roque-Oreta added. “You don’t need to pause life to make progress.”
Kong closed with a final challenge, “Time is your most limited resource. Don’t spend it — invest it. And stop waiting for permission. You don’t need it.”
Metis plans to continue expanding global access and program offerings in 2025 — meeting professionals where they are and moving with them.
The launch of Metis is part of the expansion of global executive assistance provider Athena, which announced a $2.5 million investment in a training facility in Manila. This aligns with Athena’s goal of doubling its workforce to 6,000 employees worldwide by the end of the year.
The new facility will serve as the company’s primary training and collaboration hub in Asia, supporting its current Philippine workforce of 2,600 employees.
