PLDT may have suffered a heartbreaking exit in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference semifinals, but it is using the setback as fuel for a stronger campaign in the upcoming 2025 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women’s Champions League.
AVC and the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) leadership remains optimistic despite PLDT’s narrow defeat to Choco Mucho 15-25, 25-12, 23-25, 25-21, 13-15 in the PVL quarterfinals.
Instead of dwelling on the loss, the PNVF views it as a necessary wake-up call for the High Speed Hitters as they gear up for the international stage.
While PLDT fell short, the PNVF believes the experience serves as an eye-opener, allowing the team to assess its strengths and weaknesses ahead of the Champions League, set to take place from 20 to 27 April at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
The PNVF also praised key players Savi Davison and Sisi Rondina for their exceptional performances throughout the series.
With 12 teams vying for supremacy in the Champions League, the PNVF hopes at least one of the three Philippine representatives will advance to the knockout stage.
The format requires teams to secure a spot in the top eight after the preliminary round, or they will be eliminated early.
