Pending the appointment of a new chief, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has called for sustained momentum in the country’s digital transformation by building on key reforms in digital identity, e-governance and connectivity.

“The work is far from over. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of digital transformation and ensuring that no Filipino is left behind in the digital age,” DICT Undersecretary for e-Government David Almirol Jr. said on Monday.

To date, the DICT has issued 84 million digital national IDs, streamlining transactions across government agencies, banks and financial institutions.

The digital ID has facilitated over 100 million transactions, improving access to both public and private services and reinforcing trust in digital governance.

“The digital national ID is more than just an ID — it’s the foundation of a truly digital government. It enables seamless access to services, reduces red tape and fosters trust between citizens and the government,” Almirol said.

According to Almirol, the DICT also needs to further expand the eGovPH Super App, a platform that consolidates multiple government services.

With 11 million users and 120 million recorded use cases, the app has integrated services from agencies such as the Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Government Service Insurance System, Professional Regulation Commission, Philippine National Police, Maritime Industry Authority, Land Transportation Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration.

Several local government units, including Quezon City, Manila and Parañaque, have also incorporated their services into the platform.
