The Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Friday announced that it has adjusted working hours for Muslim government employees during Ramadan.

During the Islamic holy month, regular office hours of 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. are modified to 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with no noon break, the CSC said. The two-hour difference will not be considered undertime.

On Fridays, Muslim employees are excused from work from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The CSC announcement, made in observance of Ramadan, advises Muslim government workers to adopt flexible working hours under the Policies on Flexible Working Arrangements (FWAs).

The FWAs aim to institutionalize appropriate work arrangements for government employees, ensuring efficient service delivery and protecting their health and welfare.
