If you ever notice Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera acting brash on camera, it is because he is finally back where he truly belongs, according to TNC Pro Team partner Naser "Akosi Dogie" Mollazehi.
Known for his trash talk during his days with Dogie's Nexplay, Yawi got rid of his antics when he joined ECHO in 2021 before helping the team win the M4 World Championship two years later.
Yawi returned to MPL PH under Dogie's TNC after a brief stint in Indonesia, and before Season 15 started, he had a heated ranked match against Twisted Minds gold laner Jhonville "Outplayed" Villar.
For Dogie, Yawi's heated moments on camera have a simple explanation.
"It means Yawi is comfortable with me," Dogie said.
"He is back home, back with me, and he is comfortable. That is it. To me, it is not required [to talk trash]; it is something that comes out naturally."
The pre-season verbal scuffle between Yawi and Outplayed was only the beginning, as Dogie announced that there would be more moving forward should TNC Pro Team continue winning.
After a winless Season 14 and a loss against ONIC PH on Day 1, TNC broke its losing skid with an impressive 2-0 sweep over AP Bren on Day 2. Based on how they performed, TNC is sure to win more.
"ECHO Yawi was silent because MPL had rules, but before that, there was shouting, even in pandemic days," Dogie stated.
"It has never been lost, it has always been there, the passion and gigil. Let us be loud, let us be clear not below the belt. Keep it [passionate] keep it real."
