ACMobility, the mobility solutions arm of the Ayala Group, is set to expand its electric vehicle (EV) charging network across Makati City, with 74 fully operational charging points across 18 locations by the first quarter of 2025.
This expansion aims to provide residents and visitors with more accessible EV charging stations as Makati strengthens its role as a hub for sustainable urban mobility.
“ACMobility is excited to enhance Makati’s mobility infrastructure with a comprehensive charging network, ensuring convenient and efficient solutions for residents and visitors,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, Chief Executive Officer of ACMobility. "As a key city for our EV ecosystem expansion, Makati exemplifies the potential of electric mobility in urban centers, and we are dedicated to meeting its evolving needs toward a greener future."
Makati City has long been recognized for its eco-friendly initiatives and sustainable urban planning. The city has implemented waste reduction programs, barangay-level recycling centers, and various green initiatives to promote environmental responsibility.
Mayor Abby Binay welcomed ACMobility’s expansion, emphasizing its role in integrating cleaner technologies into the daily lives of Makati residents.
As one of the country’s most sustainable cities, Makati continues to lead by example in building a future-ready urban environment,” Binay said.
“By boosting our EV infrastructure through ACMobility, we commit to the integration of cleaner technologies into the daily life of Makatizens. As such, we look forward to the expansion of ACMobility’s EV charging stations not only within the business district but also outside of it, making it possible for the entire Makati community to experience the benefits of electric vehicles."
Currently, 47 charging points are operational across various commercial and residential areas in Makati, including Valero 2, Dela Rosa 1, Makati Stock Exchange, and Solaris One.
By Q1 2025, ACMobility will install an additional 27 charging stations, 19 of which will be DC fast chargers, significantly reducing charging times for EV users. New ultra-fast chargers will be introduced at Corinthian and Legaspi car parks to further expand convenient charging options.
To accommodate late-night and early-morning commuters, several charging stations will operate 24/7.
ACMobility is working with Ayala Land and the Makati Central Estate Association (MACEA) to expand Makati’s EV infrastructure as part of a broader effort to promote sustainable transportation in the country.
"We are proud to support Makati’s transformation into a benchmark for sustainable urban mobility,” said Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure at ACMobility.
“This is just the beginning, and we look forward to bringing the same level of commitment and innovation to other cities across the country, ensuring that the EV infrastructure keeps pace with the growing adoption of electric vehicles and sets the stage for a cleaner, more connected future for all.”
