Hotel 101 ushered in Chinese New Year with an exciting announcement of its global expansion strategy during a festive gathering at Jinjiang Inn on Tuesday.
The event not only celebrated the lunar holiday, but also marked a pivotal moment for the hotel chain’s ambitious growth.
Charley Magabo, general manager of Hotel 101, shared significant milestones for the company’s future, including its preparations for a potential listing on the US NASDAQ.
He also outlined the hotel’s expansion within the Philippines, revealing new properties in Davao, Cebu and Mactan Airport. On the international front, Magabo highlighted upcoming projects in Madrid, Spain and Niseko, Japan.
“Chinese New Year symbolizes renewal, wisdom and transformation — values that align perfectly with the Year of the Wood Snake and Hotel 101’s vision,” Magabo said.
“This year, we embark on a remarkable journey of expansion and innovation, taking the spirit of Filipino hospitality to new heights.”
The celebration of the Chinese New Year, which began on 29 January and runs until 16 February, also marked the arrival of the Year of the Wood Snake — an animal revered for its wisdom, elegance and transformative energy.
These traits resonate with Hotel 101’s bold and visionary plans for the future, reflecting its commitment to strategic growth and intuitive decision-making.
Hotel 101’s signature rooms, designed with consistency and efficiency in mind, remain a core feature of the brand. Each room is 21 square meters and equipped with modern amenities, including air conditioning, a queen-size and standard bed, a kitchen sink with a microwave and mini fridge, a telephone, 48” LED cable TV and complimentary WiFi.
In addition to expanding its footprint, Hotel 101 recently established its global headquarters in Singapore. This move comes on the heels of new land acquisitions in Niseko, Madrid and Los Angeles, further solidifying the company’s international ambitions.
Hotel 101, a subsidiary of DoubleDragon Corporation founded by Filipino entrepreneurs Tony Tan Caktiong and Edgar Injap Sia II, currently operates 11 hotels across the Philippines.
In an interview with DAILY TRIBUNE, Magabo emphasized the company’s commitment to standardizing services across both local and international locations, ensuring consistency and high quality across their expanding portfolio.
As the company continues to grow, both locally and globally, Magabo’s vision of expansion, backed by the strategic wisdom of the Wood Snake, sets Hotel 101 on a path toward an exciting future — one that brings Filipino hospitality to the world stage.
