Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Kristina Knott started her indoor season with a bang by setting a new national record in the women’s 200-meter event Sunday at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Knott, 29, clocked in 23.46 seconds to finish fifth in the 16-woman race.
The previous record was set by Knott at 23.57 seconds at the Arkansas Qualifier in Fayetteville, North Carolina last February.
American sprinter Ramiah Elliott topped the event with a time of 23.27 seconds.
Knott also finished in second place in the women’s 60m event after clocking in 7.34 seconds.
Kenondra Travis of Texas topped the event with a time of 7.28 seconds.
Knott’s personal best in this event is at 7.26 seconds at the American Track League #2 in 2021.
