Last 1 December, MIIS held their Kids Can! #4GreenPH Eco-Bazaar and Thrift Market. More than a thousand attendees shopped and watched the live performances of the students, taking home countless goodies with them. The Kids Can! program champions youth entrepreneurship and advocates for the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals with a special focus on “Leadership for a Sustainable Future.”

Students from all grade levels of Multiple Intelligence International School set up 26 booths that offered a variety of unique products. Different booths supported different advocacies, ranging from animal welfare to gender equality. Shoppers delighted in one-of-a-kind items like bags and clothing made from woven fabric in support of indigenous peoples. There were also essential oils, different snacks and sweets, pre-loved clothing, and so much more. Visitors and attendees took the chance to shop for a cause by buying Christmas gifts and all sorts of sustainable and innovative products.

One of the well-patronized booths at the Kids Can! Eco-Bazaar was the Bayong-All-You-Can. Shoppers would purchase a small or large bayong that was crafted by women weavers, and they could fill it up with as much fresh produce, fruits, and vegetables that were directly sourced from farmers in Region 2.

There was much delight in the performances too, as the day was filled with sustainability talks and class performances that entertained the shoppers. Different choreographies and talents were on full display, giving a chance to highlight the students and the Sustainable Development Goals their class advocated for.

The award-winning and student-led Kids Can Bazaar returned this 2024 to Ayala Malls UP Town Center to an overwhelming success for those participating and shopping. The children were very much engaged and exhilarated to try their hand at entrepreneurialism. Friends, shoppers and family were also full of glee to see the hands-on work of the students as they managed the finances and marketed the products of their booths. Fueled by purpose and a goal, the MIIS Kids Can Program continues to make leaps forward in pioneering the next generation of innovators and sustainable leaders.
