KFC Philippines, which holds the license for the world’s most famous fried chicken, revealed its aggressive campaign to open more branches through franchising next year.
During the opening of its 400th branch at Highway 2000 in Taytay, Rizal, KFC Philippines chief of marketing Charmaine Bautista Pamintuan, disclosed that they are now being assertive with KFC’s sub-franchising program.
She said to date, KFC Philippines is managing close to 60 franchise stores.
“The difference with the sub-franchising of KFC is that we operate the stores for franchisees. We are opening up sub-franchising to other individuals in various parts of the country, which will also hasten the expansion of KFC branches in the country,” she said.
Pamintuan said that aside from managing the franchised stores, KFC Philippines will construct the store for franchisees, and putting a uniform design.
“In terms of the price range of the franchise, that would depend on the size and location. It may go from P19 million up to 40 million,” Pamintuan said.
“The thrust of KFC is to expand our footprint in the country, as local government units are clamoring for KFC branches in their towns or municipalities. Every time we open new stores, it not only opens the economy of the town or city but also opens up opportunities for the labor force. We have stores that employ senior citizens with the thrust of inclusivity. Our stores do not discriminate in terms of age, gender, or race,” she said.
For the expansion plans next year, Pamintuan disclosed KFC aims for at least a hundred stores to open in 2025.
Sustainability push
Meanwhile, she said that KFC Philippines remains committed to running branches that are carbon emission-free and sustainable.
The newly-opened Taytay branch is solar-powered.
“More than 60 stores are solar-powered. We make sure that most of our stores have solar power. Aside from that, our packaging materials are also spouse recycling and sustainability,” according to Pamintuan.
Also, she said the chicken that KFC Philippines is grown by the company to ensure that the quality remains undisputed, just like its mantra “the world’s famous fried chicken.”
