Over and above socials and camaraderie among members, Rotarians are best known for their steadfast, selfless service to the community, combatting malnutrition, caring for the environment, and other such advocacies, as well as their sharing with those who need attention and aid the most.
It was in this best tradition of care of community and selfless giving — particularly made manifest at this time of the year — that members and officers of the Rotary Club of Manila and its Community Corps Committee chaired by Rami Chahwan, organized a feeding program for the community residents of Sitio Bagong Silang, in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa City.
In collaboration with Dr. John Cenica of RC Manila's Disease Prevention Committee and Board Legal Adviser Raoul Creencia from the Club's WASH Committee, members of RC Manila's Rotary Community Corps Committee led by RCCC chair Rami Chawan, under the guidance of RC Manila president Rafael Alunan III and volunteers from the Commission on Service to Human Promotion motored to the activity site in Muntinlupa and provided meals for some 400 underprivileged residents.
