The Rotary Club of Makati once again demonstrated its commitment to education and youth development by partnering with the Interact Club of General Pio del Pilar National High School to organize SciQuest 2023 last 1 December.

The exciting science quiz bee was aimed at igniting students' passion for science while enhancing their critical thinking skills.

The event was graced by esteemed members of RC Makati, including president Senen "Bing" Matoto, past president Louie Aseoche, Directors Julian Lim and Brian Liu, Philip Soliven and Boy Arteche.

Scientific knowledge showcased

A total of 40 students from Grades 7 to 10 of General Pio del Pilar National High School showcased their scientific knowledge and skills in three challenging rounds — easy, average and difficult. The questions covered a wide range of scientific topics, putting the students' knowledge and analytical abilities to the test.

After an intense competition, Group 2 secured the third spot, earning P3,000 worth of gift certificates. Group 1 claimed the second position, winning P4,000 worth of GCs. Group 5 emerged victorious as First Place winner and receiving P6,000 worth of gift certificates along with coveted gold medals.

RC Makati generously sponsored the gift certificates, medals, and meals for all participants, reaffirming its dedication to supporting educational initiatives and nurturing young talent in the community.

The Interact Club of General Pio del Pilar National High School, revitalized in September of the previous year under the leadership of Immediate past president Michael Escaler, has flourished under the guidance of Director Julian Lim and the mentorship of Tony Lopez.

SciQuest marks the second successful project supported by RC Makati for the Interact Club since its revival, demonstrating the enduring partnership between the two organizations in promoting education and youth development.
